Reconciled to sin

“Not being reconciled to the fact of sin— not recognizing it and refusing to deal with it— produces all the disasters in life. You may talk about the lofty virtues of human nature, but there is something in human nature that will mockingly laugh in the face of every principle you have. If you refuse to agree with the fact that there is wickedness and selfishness, something downright hateful and wrong, in human beings, when it attacks your life, instead of reconciling yourself to it, you will compromise with it and say that it is of no use to battle against it…The pure man or woman is the one who is shielded from harm, not the innocent person. The so-called innocent man or woman is never safe. Men and women have no business trying to be innocent; God demands that they be pure and virtuous. Innocence is the characteristic of a child. Any person is deserving of blame if he is unwilling to reconcile himself to the fact of sin."

Trust your twin will come, part 2

Another requirement for manifesting your twin flame relationship is to be (almost) healed of insecurities and feelings of inadequacies. If a person is lacking in self worth, if they feel that they do not deserve to stand on their own, then a relationship with his or her twin will not materialize, for in a twin flame relationship, there can be no reliance on the other half.

Each have must be fully self-supporting; this is just another paradox to be contemplated upon. It is fully normal and healthy to become a team, to be able to accomplish tasks that would not be practical to perform solo, but if reliance on a relationship to compensate for feelings of inferiority is even remotely present, then the relationship cannot be. Yet while a person must be able to stand on his or her own in any given environment, there are deep rooted hurts that can not be healed on one's own, or even meant to be healed on one's own through God's will. In this case, a twin flame relationship can happen, and will be needed for complete healing.

This understanding whether or not a person is relying on a relationship for validation takes an incredible amount of introspection and brutal honesty. The person must be so aware of his or her feelings, that when feelings of worthlessness are surfaced they may be immediately confronted and dispelled. A good way of testing if one is feeling inferior is to ask oneself if he or she feels okay in an environment, or if it is felt that a person, in this case a mate, is required. If a person feels that they do not deserve to be present in a given situation, then that is a huge red flag on a person's spiritual development.

In order for feelings of uselessness and self-pity to vanish, one must recognize their worth, and the best way to feel worthy is to help others. And when a person is spiritually fit, simply being present is helpful, because a spiritually fit person had the peace of God emanating from him or her. The offering of peace, even by simply existing in an setting is the most welcoming trait that a person can give. To comfort others is an inexhaustible resource that will be valued regardless of the environment, and once a person can appreciate this universally accepted possession that is designed to be given away, he or she will have the confidence that is required to be (re)united with their twin.

Trust your twin will come

It doesn't matter what is happening in your twin's life. All that matters is your sanity. If this person is your twin, you do not need them physically. If this person is your twin, you will feel good just knowing that your presence in their lives helps them, and therefore, it helps you. Believing in your healing power will make you feel so warm inside, you will find yourself in momentary relief - until you return back into the world, until you stop believing in your miraculous talents.

It's okay to love your twin from afar, because doing so holds a sacred space for you to heal, for you to do the work that needs to be done, before true love with your twin will manifest. And if you do the work, your love with your twin will absolutely manifest, it doesn't even matter if they are marrying a soulmate tomorrow - if you've done the work, you will be (re)united in this lifetime.

So what is the work? It is the absolute reliance on God. It is the utmost trust that God will not only take away your suffocating pain in that heat of the moment, but that His will for you is decreed, and is therefore good and right for you.  It is saying to God in the midst of falling apart, when relief seems impossible, when every disappointment that has ever been felt for as long as you can remember is screaming at you, and saying, "You know best God - lead the way!" Because with God, nothing is impossible. And the fear of everything you were, and everything you think you could never be, will pass.

And when that torment passes, and we have been returned to sanity, we can go back to holding that space for our twin - and for us. And once that space is filled with our trust in God and love for our twin - not for the physical, but for their full happiness - then our twin will be that much closer, and God will reward us. Our (re)union is contingent on the faith in our ability be healed and to heal, and for our complete abandonment to His Spirit. Then, we will be comforted.

Before He gets pushed out

From today's Hazelton's Twenty-Four Hours a Day meditation:

"Seek God early in the day, before He gets crowded out by life's problems, difficulties, or pleasures. In that early quiet time gain a calm, strong confidence in the goodness and purpose in the universe. Do not seek God only when the world's struggles prove too much and too many for you to bear or face alone. Seek God early, when you can have a consciousness of God's spirit in the world. People often only seek God when their difficulties are too great to be surmounted in any other way, forgetting that if they sought God's companionship before they need it, many of their difficulties would never arise."

Seek and find

From today's Utmost

"'You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss…' (James 4:3). If you ask for things from life instead of from God, 'you ask amiss'; that is, you ask out of your desire for self-fulfillment. The more you fulfill yourself the less you will seek God. '…seek, and you will find….' Get to work— narrow your focus and interests to this one thing. Have you ever sought God with your whole heart, or have you simply given Him a feeble cry after some emotionally painful experience? '…seek, [focus,] and you will find….Have you ever lamented, expressing your sorrow before God for the condition of your inner life? There is no thread of self-pity left, only the heart-rending difficulty and amazement which comes from seeing what kind of person you really are. "

The real focus

From today's Utmost:

"Am I abiding? Am I taking the time to abide? What is the greatest source of power in my life? Is it my work, service, and sacrifice for others, or is it my striving to work for God? It should be none of these— what ought to exert the greatest power in my life is the atonement of the Lord. It is not on what we spend the greatest amount of time that molds us the most, but whatever exerts the most power over us. We must make a determination to limit and concentrate our desires and interests on the atonement by the Cross of Christ."

Complete depravity

From today's Spurgeon meditation. I had a genuine spiritual experience reading this. I have been ready for this moment (as with most of the regulars in my online community). We are truly only saved through faith, through absolute conviction of sin. There is absolutely nothing that I can do to cleanse myself. Of myself I am nothing.

June 6:

"Behold, I am vile."

One cheering word, poor lost sinner, for thee! You think you must not come to God because you are vile. Now, there is not a saint living on earth but has been made to feel that he is vile. If Job, and Isaiah, and Paul were all obliged to say "I am vile," oh, poor sinner, wilt thou be ashamed to join in the same confession? If divine grace does not eradicate all sin from the believer, how dost thou hope to do it thyself? and if God loves his people while they are yet vile, dost thou think thy vileness will prevent his loving thee? Believe on Jesus, thou outcast of the world's society! Jesus calls thee, and such as thou art.
"Not the righteous, not the righteous;
Sinners, Jesus came to call."
Even now say, "Thou hast died for sinners; I am a sinner, Lord Jesus, sprinkle thy blood on me;" if thou wilt confess thy sin thou shalt find pardon. If, now, with all thy heart, thou wilt say, "I am vile, wash me," thou shalt be washed now. If the Holy Spirit shall enable thee from thy heart to cry
"Just as I am, without one plea
But that thy blood was shed for me,
And that thou bidd'st me come to thee,
O Lamb of God, I come!"
thou shalt rise from reading this morning's portion with all thy sins pardoned; and though thou didst wake this morning with every sin that man hath ever committed on thy head, thou shalt rest tonight accepted in the Beloved; though once degraded with the rags of sin, thou shalt be adorned with a robe of righteousness, and appear white as the angels are. For "now," mark it, "Now is the accepted time." If thou "believest on him who justifieth the ungodly thou art saved." Oh! may the Holy Spirit give thee saving faith in him who receives the vilest.

Happy New Year (It's a Jubilee Year)

I was speaking with a friend who is returning to their art of painting, and as they shared some of their pieces with me, I recognized it as ...
